Selection Policy
Books, audio, digital tools, databases, ebooks, magazines, and DVDs, are purchased to add to the library collection using the HCPSS selection policy. For full details of the policy click on this link, Policy 8040.
Any titles that have not received professional reviews may be added to the collection following three teacher reviews and completion of a selection criteria form (profreviewform.pdf)

Reconsideration Policy
Occasionally a member of the community may request that a material is re-evaluated. The following steps should be followed.:
- The principal will make every effort to resolve this situation at the school level by holding a conference with the community member and review the material with them.
- Following the conference, the community member may file a Request for Reevaluation of Instructional Materials In Use form. A copy will be sent to the Superintendent for referal to the CRC, as per section 4 of the HCPSS Policy 8040.
- The material concerned will be removed from the shelf until the review has been completed.
- Once the review has been completed, no further review of the material will be undertaken for the next two years.
- The principal will make every effort to resolve this situation at the school level by holding a conference with the community member and review the material with them.
